We stepped inside the Umpqua Discovery Center on Reedsport's riverfront and took a journey through time in Tidewaters & Time. Our adventure began with stories around a campfire from Kuuich Indains.
Our adventure continued as we hiked the indoor trail of Pathways to Discovery and learned about the plants and animals of tidewater country. At the end of tthr trail was the Subterranean Education Room where there was videos on elk, bats, sand and dunes. There were a lot of plaques such as this one, at these sites you could push a button and here the sound the animal makes in the wild.
Another example of the informatial plaques along the trail, there was a ton of educational information on the area.
Another form of presenting the information were these cute little books.
Here Jo is surrounded by another informational method was the beautiful paintings.
This painting depicts a plank house of the Kuuich Indians.
Enjoy the painting, I sure did
A beautifull picture on the life of a pioneer farmer and his wife.
Even the pioneers had a barber. I just touched on what you can see and learn when you take a journey Umpqua Discovery Center, hope you enjoyed.
