Plains Motel & Trading Post

This is in the town of Douglas. It contains: gifts, rocks and souvenirs, a Bar/Lounge, Dance Hall, an old-fashioned Ice Cream Parlor and Museum in addition to the restaurant and motel.

Of course we had lunch, then headed upstairs to check out the museum part of the complex. We read that parts from 40 different buildings were used in the construction of the Trading Post complex and 1,200 doors are incorporated into the decor.

The following are photos of some of the furnishings displayed throughout the rooms of the museum.

Kitchen

The laundry room. Quite an interesting contraption wouldn't you say?

The bathroom accommodates big folks and even a toilet for the little ones.

There was even an old-fashioned slot machine in this room.

As much as I love to see animals and I don't think I could have one of these hanging on the walls in my house.

The outside of the complex.

The brick portion houses the snack bar/counter dining and also the dining room/restaurant.

This scene is from the Douglas, WY KOA RV Park where we were staying. The pool is behind the white fenced section and this is the miniature golf course. Mr. Jackalope is standing guard.

The early evening sky caught my eye so I had to get my camera. The sites are of average size here, a nice park to stop for a couple of nights.

This little fellow was just outside the motorhome. Look at that little white tail.

You all have heard how quickly bunnies reproduce. Look, here's two.

No wait, now there's three (see what I mean). They were having fun running all over the place. It was really nice to watch them while having our morning coffee.

These horses were housed behind the motorhome row we were in. There's a young one mixed in with the larger ones.

Just a scene from our window. It's very rural out this way.
