The town of Wendover, NV in the background as we were coming down the mountain
We crossed into Utah and stopped at the Bonneville Salt Flats rest area
The interestate crosses through the salt flats
The site of the first transcontinental telephone line
This area has the salt flats raceway but we didn't see any vehicles out there
This lower section actually had some water scattered through it
Does anyone have an idea of what this is being transported?
It looks like there is a hatchway at this end of whatever it is, any ideas????
I'm guessing that they are mining the salt is this area
This building is called Saltair and was a fancy resort on the lake back in the olden days(it's closed down now and blocked off to keep out vandals)
Couldn't load this picture in the previous post but it's a much better photo of the Lamoille Glacier area (the colors stand out)
