Dean Creek Elk Viewing Area, Reedsport, OR

One of the many RV Parks in the Reedsport/ Florence area, this one was in the Winchester Bay area.
As always, where there is water there are boats; took this picture in Winchester Bay.
How's this for showing the coast line, one where you had to climb the rocks to get to the water.
One reason we chose to stop in the Florence/Reedsport area was to see the Roosevelt Elk, as you see we got to see them.
A herd of about 100 roam 1,040 acres of protected timber and pastureland just outside Reedspot on highway 38. The biggest herd we saw when we were in the RV heading to Florence. This herd was when we sawthem  on our second attempt in the Jeep.
We did just what the Dean Creek Elk Viewing Area was desinged to do, that is it allowed us to safely view these amazing animals.
As you can see the herd was a  mixture of old and young Elk, I was really happy to just watch them.
