This is the Minnesota Slip Drawbridge. As you can see one half of the bridge is up, the other half is down; they were having "problems" with its operation. Problem was: We parked on one side of the harbor and needed to get to the other side to take our boat cruise on the harbor. Fortunately they were able to get the problem worked out before we needed to get to our boat tour.
This is the boat that we took our tour of the harbor on. Lovely cruise. We lucked out and picked a beautiful day. We stayed on the top deck the entire trip.
We strolled down into Canal Park while killing time for the cruise. We came across this statute/fountain area.
This character was in the middle of the above statute/fountain.
We had lunch at a Mexican restaurant where we sat outside (beautiful day). These kids were playing in this water area just outside the restaurant.
This ones for our friends Pat and Mike. Saw this old buggy come down the street.
Success, the drawbridge is now functioning. Now we don't have to walk all the way down and around to get to the boat.
One of the large freighters we saw getting ready to come into the harbor.
A closer look at the freighter.
This place is called Bay front Park. It is used for concerts, shows, etc. They were getting ready to have a large Blues and Bluegrass gathering the weekend we were leaving.
These tugboats are used to help some of the large freighters into and out of the harbor (if needed).
