The Aerial Lift Bridge was built in 1905, Duluth's most famous landmark goes up and down dozens of times daily. People flock to the Canal Park piers to see all manner of sailing vessels, including 1,000-foot freighters from around the world, glide into the harbor beneath the giant silver bridge.

Wisconsin point light house was built in 1913. The lighthouse is located at the west pier head to the Superior harbor.

This is a cement ship loading facility.
A grain loading port, each vessel can load over 14,000 thousand tons of grain.
Another grain facility. One of these belongs to General Mills.
This is an older facility.
This ship was being refueled, it takes 33 gallons of fuel per mile. And we think our RV burns a lot of fuel.
The fleet of tugs used to help move the large freighters around in the harbor.
The different colors on the bow indicate that the ship can carry different cargo, such as ore and coal or grain. A loaded ship will be 26 feet under water, that is the maximum depth, due to the harbor only being 28 feet.
Another of the harbors loading facilities.
As you can tell by now there were a lot of them.
This one is an ore loading and unloading facility, later we have some close ups of this one.
