Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center

As we entered the center this copper chicken reminded me of my mother, who collected chickens. The center features ship models, rotating displays where you can learn about ships, shipwrecks, lighthouses, the ship canal and lift bridge.
Just one of the early diesel engines that was used in the boat industry.
This one is an 1938 diesel engine.
I just got carried away with the engines in the center.
Just like all machinery you have different machines for different jobs, the same is said for dredges, each designed for a specific task.
This is the North Pier Light which guides ships into Duluth's ship canal.

This is the South Breakwater Lighthouse.

This exhibit inside the Museum shows how the grain elevator's operate.

The other side of the grain elevator's exhibit.

An aerial view of the Duluth (MN)-Superior(WI) Harbor.

A lone sailboat sailing into the harbor.
