Yes, more snow. We have no clue where this car was coming from but we did encounter several other vehicles going down the mountain as we were traversing up.
So much for staying on the "straight and narrow path" Ha Ha. The view for me (Jo) was absolutely beautiful going up; however, going down the mountain it had my nerves on edge praying that the brakes would not fail. I kept promising the Jeep a nice car wash, new air freshener, oil change or whatever it wanted as long it got us down the mountain safely.
Here is where we made the decision to turn around and go back down the mountain. The road changed to dirt and was quite bumpy and the sign said it was another 16 miles to the reservoir.
If anyone is interested, this little shack/bungalow had a "For Sale" sign in front. The property included the fenced in corrals next to it but I'm not sure how much land goes with it. If interested, don't call me, call the Cedar City real estate people.
This boulder was on the side of the road for all to see
Most places are closed on Sundays except for restaurants so we took another drive. We ran across this sign for Old Iron Town so decided to check it out.
We were a little disappointed in the place since they didn't have many signs telling you what you were looking at, etc. Oh well. Hopefully they will work on that. There were a couple of signs and also suggested that you visit the Old Homestead Farm in Cedar City proper.
Don't know if you can read any of this
These are some of the ruins
This was mounted on the outside of the Charcoal Kiln
I finally got Bill to cooperate for a quick Kodak moment
This was the inside of the kiln, I did a landscape photo. There wasn't anything to see inside, plus the light shining in from the large open area made it difficult, sorry.
