New Territory for Us

Couldn't resist this pretty sunset and the jet streams crossing  in the sky (hope you like)

Decided to take a ride to Lake Isabella. Along the road not far from the RV park we saw numerous oil pumps like this.

Sign advising that it is recommended that long vehicles over a certain length not enter the canyon because of the narrow roadway and sharp turns (they weren't kidding either).

Lake Isabella is quite pretty and fairly large. We were surprised that it wasn't really packed with beachgoers, boats, jet skis, etc. although there were some. Maybe it was too early in the season (this was early May).

Another view of the lake

Couldn't resist the pretty white puffy clouds dancing in front of the blue sky

You can drive down next to the water and park/camp on the sandy beach

There was a small campground area but I don't think it was open for the season yet

We drove along side the Kern River which traversed down the mountain

This is a scene inside the Orange Grove RV Park in Bakersfield. It is a really nice park, close to Hwy. 58 which goes west and east (up to Tehachapi and across the Mojave Desert).  See how the trees are lined up in a neat row.

The RVs (this is ours) park in between the orange trees. When the oranges are in season and ready for picking, management allows us to pick a bag for our use (they even loan you an orange picker so you can get the ones up high).

Sunset in the RV Park

Good Night All!
