Minnesota Scenery

Because of all the lakes in the area, there are several wildlife sanctuaries. Here is a statute of a goose that we ran across while driving up the road.

This is a mountain/hill where there is a fantastic view of the area (supposed to be the second highest point in the state). We decided to go get inspired.

Because of the budget problems here in Minnesota all state parks are closed. This was one of them. BUMMER!!

Some of the scenery while traveling down the road. There are some really large farms out here.

Ran across this group of pelicans (and friend).

We ran across this park with the metal sculptures that Bill showed in one of the blogs earlier. Here are a couple more of the statutes that got dropped from his posting.

This is called the Shop Helper. It is made up of 405 pieces of iron, took 98 hours, stands 6 feet high, weighs 210 lbs. and was completed in 2001.

The Elk took 229 hrs, weighs 800 lbs., stands 10.5 feet high, is made of 1,120 pieces of 10 gauge steel and was completed in 2002.

Nyberg Park is located on the corner near Big Foot Gas, Grocery and Deli in Vining, MN. Big Foot has whatever you need (from hot pizza, coffee and donuts, gas, beer & wine, movie rentals, etc. AND bait and tackle). Above is the live bait room located in the back of the store.

You can also buy Coltens Critter Corn here.
