The Falls of the Big Sioux River

The Falls are located in Falls Park, Sioux Falls, SD.They have been the focus of recreation and industry since the founding of the city in 1856. Today the park covers 123 acres. Each second, an average of 7,400 gallons of water drop 100 feet over the course of the falls.
We visited the park twice, the first three pictures were taken the first day.
There are three stages to the falls, Upper, Main and Lower.
Same falls, one night plus FIVE inches of rain, what a difference a little water from heaven makes.
We could not get over the difference, but it is easy to see how rivers can overflow.
I walked out past where that log is the day before. There was no water then.
Below this lookout was a path we walked on the day before, a few paths were blocked off because of the rise in water levels.
