Fort Fetterman, Douglas Wy

Fort Fetterman State Historic Site is preserved as a reminder of that colorful era known as the "winning of the west." The fort was established as a military post on July 19, 1867 because of conditions that existed on the Northern Plains at the close of the Civil War. The fort was needed as a major supply point for the army operation against the Indians.
The only remaining buildings, the rest of the forts structures are all gone only their foundations remain.
Just a view from the parade grounds.
One of the stops on the historic interpretive trail, each stop along the way described the building that was there when the fort was up and running.
The Calvary saddle does not look very comfortable to me, how about you?
Posted in the fort were the rules that the plains Indians lived by, here are the children's rules. We should have similar rules for today's children.
You ladies are not going to like these rules.
Us men think these are pretty good and we could live with them.
This sunset was taken at the RV park in Douglas, WY
