Fargo, ND to Sioux Falls, SD

This is the Red River. We wanted to take a boat ride on it however the business had to shut down because of the high water. It is unbelieveable as to how much flooding this part of the country is experiencing.

I shot these photos from the RV as we were driving south on the Interstate. You can see these fields are flooded. Some farmers weren't sure if they would ever get to plant any crops.

Some fields had already been planted. You can see the water sitting here.

This guys appears to be lucky and isn't affected by the river.

I was really surprised at the size of some of these farms. Look at all of the outbuilding and silos, etc.

As you can see the cows decided it was just too darn hot to sit in the field. There were a couple in the little water hole (unfortunately it was beginning to dry up here).

Just another view of the beautiful countryside along the highway.

In town, Sioux Falls, we decided to have lunch while doing the Sculpture Walk. I have never run across a restaurant where the only feature on the menu was: Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. It's a very popular place we found out.

Here's part of the menu information.

More of the menu information.

Scene from the stockyards in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Each animal had their own area within the stockyard. This was for the piggies.

Look at what was across the street from the stockyards. This company is huge. It took me a while to remember who/what they are (meat processing/packing, etc. plant).
