Antelope Island Buffalo

No trip to the Island is complete without a glimpse of the buffalo. Sometimes they do not want to cooperate and hide out and you have to drive all over the place to find them. We lucked out on this trip out there.
These 3 were down near one of the beach areas.

Drive around a curve and Hello, this guys right there on the side of the road.

The sign says to stay on the road because of the buffalo

Well,  buffalo can't read or they misunderstood the sign because they wanted to be on the road.

Here they come. We just stopped to watch these magnificent animals.

They were heading down towards the water on the east side of the island.

A close look shows how they are shedding their winter coats

Folks stop on the side of the road to walk down to get pictures of the animals

As we were going down to the Cowboy Festival this herd of buffalo was spread out (these are the females with their little ones (the light brown colored ones are the babies)

As we came back from the festival, they had all crowded together. Not sure if it was feeding time or what but it was really great to see them
There was a second herd on the opposite side of the roadway

This fellow was reading the sign (sorry, I couldn't resist).
